About Me

I am an associate professor in the Department of Economics and faculty affiliate of the Murphy Institute at Tulane University, as well as a Faculty Research Fellow at the NBER. I received my Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Irvine in 2019.

My current research lies at the intersection of applied microeconomics (focusing on migration, demography, and geography), political economy (focusing on elections and political movements), and economic history (focusing on the U.S.). While at Tulane, I have taught courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, including in microeconomic theory, political economy, and economic history.

In my free time, I enjoy chatting about politics, writing fiction, making music, and spending time with my wife Amy and our two children (aged 3 and 5).
